View full size ↗The everyday problem
A guest moving tables should not leave the staff guessing where the order now belongs. The transfer process needs to preserve the relationship between the party, its current order and the destination table.
A workable process
Use Tablio's demonstrated transfer workflow with a sample order before opening service. Confirm the starting table, destination and resulting floor state. Review how the kitchen and counter identify the order after the move, and communicate the change to the team.
A practical example
A party begins indoors and later moves to the terrace. If one waiter changes the table while another continues adding items to the old location, the record can become confusing. A quick verbal handoff alongside the supported transfer keeps everyone aligned.
Before you finish
Test the effect on later additions and billing. Decide who can perform transfers and how staff handle a destination that is already occupied, rather than experimenting during a guest's final payment.
Try this check with your team
Open a sample order at Table 4, add a second kitchen instruction and move the service to Table 7 using the supported action. Check the active order, kitchen reference, destination table and old table status before proceeding to billing.
What the result tells you
The transfer is understood when later additions reach the correct service and the cashier can locate one coherent bill. If staff must guess which table owns the order, resolve the workflow or naming before live service.
