The everyday problem
Photo-based purchase entry begins with the quality of the source image. A complete, readable picture gives the person reviewing extracted details a better reference and reduces repeated requests for the original document.
A workable process
Lay the bill flat, include all edges and avoid glare across text or totals. Make sure small quantities and prices are readable when zoomed. For a long or multi-page bill, keep the page order clear and demonstrate the supported import approach with the team.
A practical example
A folded corner can hide the last digit of a quantity while the rest of the bill remains sharp. The extracted result may look plausible, so a reviewer could miss the problem unless the original image is checked before import.
Before you finish
Retain the source document, review recognition results and correct uncertain entries before completion. Test representative supplier formats in the Farata and Speed Plus workflow rather than relying on one unusually clear sample.
Try this check with your team
Compare two images of the same approved sample bill: one full-page image taken straight on and one with glare or a cropped edge. Inspect the supplier reference, small decimal values and the last line, which is often missed when the bottom is cut off.
What the result tells you
Retake the image when the source itself is unreadable. Manual review cannot reliably recover a number that is absent from the photo. A few seconds spent on capture can prevent much longer investigation of incorrect purchase lines later.
